Our science teachers have been sweating bullets to get the kids ready for the big ATLAS science showdown happening tomorrow, Thursday! Check out these pics of the 5th graders getting their review on. Go teachers! Go students! You can totally crush this! Just one more day of testing! Let’s smash those tests like a piñata! #Leopardpride!

Mrs. Phillips, our school principal, ensures our school is a success by providing her leadership and guidance to support our students, teachers, and staff. Her supporting role significantly influences student learning and the overall atmosphere of the school. She is responsible for managing the entire school, overseeing daily operations, maintaining a safe learning environment, and promoting a positive school culture. Thank you, Mrs. Philllips for all you do for De Queen Elementary School.

Get the band out of the garage and crank up the tunes! Jowell Marrufo just hit a massive milestone in AR—he's racked up over 300, yes you heard it, 300 AR points! Party on, Jowell! #LEOPARDPRIDE

The 5th grade science classes embarked on an epic ATLAS review showdown! Each class had its own mini-challenges to crown a champion team. The top three teams then battled it out in a Jeopardy face-off that was more thrilling than a rollercoaster ride! This was not just a blast, but also a clever way to prep for the state tests looming next week. The victorious squads—the Olympians, the Crash Outs, and the Blue Barbarians—will be rewarded with a pizza party! Best of luck to all our students as they tackle test week!

On April 12, 2025, students at DES were recognized for their dedication and achievements in the 2024 academic year, demonstrating significant progress in their studies. A total of 234 students in the fourth and fifth grades were honored with various awards for meeting or surpassing the state standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. We take great pride in all our students and value the growth they have attained.
